The Artistic Journey
Max Olivier landed in New York in the late 90’s and immediately immersed himself in the music scene. First, as a backing vocalist for established artists like Vivian Trimble and Josephine Wiggs, he soon joined the musical collective Kotorino before setting up his band, Les Becauses. He roamed the New York scene, played on legendary venues like the SOB’s, Knitting Factory, Slipper Room, and many more. He also composed the soundtrack for a short film selected for the Angelika Film Center festival, first contact with the visual arts, which became a passion much later.
New York is the perfect playground for this versatile artist who dances for two years with Brooklyn’s professional company Racoco.
New York was a logical step for this multidisciplinary artist, after a professional career in France which includes prestigious performances, arena tour opening acts for internationally acclaimed artists. His European musical career reveals an album produced by a major record label, extensive tours, influential festivals, regular TV appearances, and radio programming.

From Stage To Coaching
In his early ’20s, following his music career success, Max Olivier began working with French non-profit organizations in underserved neighborhoods. This first contact with coaching voice techniques, songwriting, and improvisation revealed a passion for helping other artists. Although his approach was more technical at the time, Max was already focusing on the relationship between technicality and deeper human connections. Later that work became the foundation for his methodology. He will go on coaching in the United States throughout his 20 + years in New York.
In a parallel path, Max is a black belt in Poekoelan Tjimindie, an Indonesian martial art that greatly influences his coaching. He taught this martial art at the Tulen Center in New York for 8 years. He created and lead guided meditation classes, a powerful tool now a part of his holistic coaching.
Max Olivier combines a multidisciplinary accomplished artistic career, martial arts knowledge, and professional proficiency in coaching. He has trained, taught, and coached throughout his life. His atypical upbringing and background result in his unique rich expertise, put in service of his clients.

” Welcoming yourself is the true freedom of expression!
As an artist, authenticity is your only path to joy and fulfillment. You will genuinely feel accomplished only when you surrender to your artist self and your art, doing what you love without apologizing, shrinking, and fear. You can hold back and resist who you are, or you can collaborate with your art and what you want. Welcoming yourself is the path I show my clients.”
